Leigh- I don't have that book but I have the book Seed to Seed: Seed Saving and Growing Techniques for Vegetable Gardeners by Suzanne Ashworth and Kent Whealy. I actually need to dig it out to do more reading but it's packed away due to the house reno's going on. Lee was going to detassel some of the corn but then time got away from us when it should have been done. That was before we realized that cross breeding alters this years corn flavor. We will have to be more on the ball next year.

Molly- They are even prettier in person. I have to say that I got even more excited about the popcorn over the sweet corn just because of the colors.

Love that strawberry one!

I haven't tried to save corn seed yet, but I have a really good book, _Saving Seed_ by Marc Rogers (Storey Books). He recommends covering young developing ears with a water-proof, nonplastic bag and then hand pollinating when the tassels are ready. I will probably try this next year as cross pollination seems to be a real problem when it comes to saving corn seed.
